    ARGH! How can I fix this problem? Unable to check in!!!

    When I try to check in for my bmi flight, I keep getting this message:

    Server Error in '/bmi' Application.

    Runtime Error

    Description: An application error occurred on the server. The current custom error settings for this application prevent the details of the application error from being viewed remotely (for security reasons). It could, however, be viewed by browsers running on the local server machine.

    Details: To enable the details of this specific error message to be viewable on remote machines, please create a <customErrors> tag within a "web.config" configuration file located in the root directory of the current web application. This <customErrors> tag should then have its "mode" attribute set to "Off".

    I looked on google and all the sites say something about changing something or other in some Internet Info services program or something.

    I'd try phoning, but it will cost me a fortune.

    and i'm sue that is correct, except thats how to fix the server, and you can't do that

    The error is a classic post 2000 microsoft one.

    Basically its so secure, that its not allowed to tell you whats gone wrong, because that can be useful to people (as was seen with sooo much php worms/viruses etc).

    So you have to actually configure the server to see whats happened.

    You'll most likely find someone has let a file grow to big on the database server or something because no one could be bothered to do any work over xmas.

    Thanks for your advice guys.

    Unfortunately I got a seat right at the back, near the toilets. Morons were constantly leaning on my seat whilst they were waiting. Ah well, I survived.

    What I don't understand is, why it worked fine for other people, but not me? What I also do not understand is why it only ever happens on the return leg. Could it be my ISP?

    The only way your ISP is going to have an effect is if BMI have multiple servers and they are bouncing your connection and requests to a particular server based on geographic location.

    I know it's a pain, but really, there isn't anything you can do about it. It's BMI's problem, you can't influence it.
