    Homeplug Password

For those of you with Homeplugs, did you put a password on your homeplug and why?

    Re: Homeplug Password

Yes, goes along with the encryption. I live in an apartment block so don't want unencrypted data leaking to my neighbours .

    Thanks for that.

One final thing - did you make up a password or was their one on the box/plug somewhere.

The Zyxel Homeplugs come with a default password, something really advanced like "password" so I obviously changed it . If you can, disable the remote features for added security. The remote features (on Zyxel's atleast) require a unique access code for each plug anyway (located on plug and/or manual).

The one I have are from Advent. Can't see 'remote' in the management utility.

I have put a password on plug on the second pc. But not the one connected to router.

    Re: Homeplug Password

The encryption should require matching passwords for the same loop, otherwise you're merely putting a password on the admin/config features of the plug.
