Ripping webcasts (mod may want to check)

ok, this might be a bit of a dodgy topic. I have paid for a webcast, so does this mean i have the rights to rip it to my computer? eg. jus like you do when you order something on sky digital etc and video record it.

if so is this possible from windows media player?

It depends entirely on the type of broadcast it is.

For example, recording a chat radio show, where the authors have gave permission for it to be recorded is fine. Recording a stream of songs where you dont have the artists permission is not.

Got a TV out on your GFX card? You could just tape it (very low tech but it would work).
