New Vista x64 Driver for F5D9050

    Hi all,

Obviously this will not be of interest to everyone, but for those who this does apply to it will no doubt be very useful.

A quick search showed that the only driver available for this combo is the driver written by 'Chris' on PlanetAMD64. I toyed with the idea of using his version myself, but was not overly happy that it's based on an '06 Ralink so decided to write my own based on the latest 3.1.5.0 Ralink.

Of course the new driver is provided 'as-is' but i can confirm that I have fully tested it and am happy with its operation. If you need it, you can find it HERE

    Best regards, K22

Hi there, does this driver include the ability to manually set the SSID information so that we can all get rid of the crappy MS WLAN Autoconfig? I swear that service is the bane of my computing life o.O

Hi there, tried to download your driver anyway, but it says that you have removed the file from their servers. Could you re-upload it please?

    Thanks.

Blimey, that didn't stay there long! I don't have my own web space and thought it would stay there for others to download, but apparently not!

Of course I can upload the driver again for you, and if anyone knows where I can upload this without it being deleted please let me know

Regards the WLAN Autoconfig, I have completely unpacked and re-coded this driver so you get no configuration utility/installer etc. as would normally be provided. These are the dll/sys files only which you will need to point to for install.

How odd. I swear it was down when I made that post.

Anyhow, what I mean is, if you goto the driver in Device Manager and click on the Advanced Tab, can you manually set the SSID. That way, you don't actually need an auto config utility or a 3rd party one.
