I've got Vodafone's mobile broadband at the moment - £15 for 3GB per month. I've yet to want to use it and not been able to get a signal, and I've always had pretty good speeds from it.
One of the benefits for me is when you go abroad to most countries it is £10 per 24 hours for 50mb of transfer (sounds lots but actually pretty reasonable! - its also a full 24 hours, e.g. 1pm Monday to 1pm Tuesday etc... T-mobile want £1.50-7.50 per MB, Orange £3/mb etc..). I found this a great deal as it's far cheaper than what the other networks want to charge internationally. Three being a slight exception, allowing you to use it in a select few 'three countries' as part of your allowance I believe.
Double check the modem you select - I've got a business contract with them so got a modem supporting the full 7.2mbps - some of the consumer ones they were offering at the same time were limited to 3.6mbps. They were also the only network to have speeds up to 7.2mbps when I purchased, although I think that's changing
Importantly, I only use this for when I'm out and about - I have a Be 24mbps line for home office use![]()

Ive had mobile broadband with 3 for about 12 months now, £15 for 5gb per month (thats what I paid a year ago, no idea what it is now) but at the time 3 were the only ones that werent charging £lol amounts for it.
Ive been impressed with it, the only downside to mine anyway was the USB modem I have has to use a lead, rather than plug straight in/be a USB stick, its a minor flaw I know, but quite annoying when out and about.

thanks for starting this thread OiD
A friend of mine is getting my old laptop but she doesn't have a land line, so no ADSL. Her current phone is a O2 PAYG job which she has had for years (might even be an old Genie SIM in there). I've been meaning to ask on here about mobile broadband for a while now![]()
Thanks
Unfortunatly my 3 card is great when out and about, good signal and performance, but at home I barely get a phone signal on any network as it is, so cant really test it at home!
Although tbh when Im at home I'm using my own broadband line anyway, so why would I bother with 3G!
Well out of the box @ home the initial software installation and connection to t'net was flawless. Signal isn't super strong, but then I didn't expect it to be, but it connects first time & i've had no disconnects.
So, altogether, very happy with O2 MBB thus far.
