Right here is the deal.
I'm moving Saturday, I'm only down the road so same exchange, BT are switching my phone services off at current address on Friday and transferring it to new one, and were keeping the same number.
The exchange is BT Wholesale, not LLU.
o2 said I shall be without broadband for 6 to 10 working days and they can't sort this out till I move in, that bit got me scratching my head as surely if I'm using the same exchange/number then the exchange will know where to send my internets, I don't physically have a o2 line running to my socket, infact as its BT wholesale they don't even have anything at the exchange.
This is what there site says -
I thought it would just be a case of plug it all in and it works. The girl on the phone did not ask for my moving date, or line activation date or anything, she said I'd have to ring once moved in, which seems strange given the above bumf on there site.We'll need:
* Your new BT line activation date
* Your old BT line disconnection date
* Your new address
* Your new permanent BT landline number
* Your moving in date
If you don't have all this information yet, just give us a call back when you do. However, we won't be able to start processing your account transfer until your new BT landline is connected and in your name.
My plans for working from home more have taken a severe dent for the next few weeks![]()
Anyone else had moving experiences better than this?
