We’re writing to let you know that the terms and conditions for our National broadband and phone services have changed. So, whether you’ve got one or both of these services, please just take a few minutes to read this email.

The changes mean that, from 1st of April 2009, if you decide to end your services with us, you’ll no longer need to give us 30 days’ notice – handy if you’re in a hurry! These changes also mean that sometimes a one-off disconnection charge of £23.50 might apply.

We really don’t want you to pay any extra charges, so if you’re thinking of leaving Virgin Media, moving home or just changing your services, make sure that you call us to let us know as soon as you can! That way, we can give you advice on all the options available.

Want to find out more? You’ll be able to see the new terms and conditions on our website from 31st March, and can find details of these changes in section H. If you’d like to read them now, just click to check out the Broadband terms and conditions or Broadband & Talk terms and conditions.

If you still need to speak to us, just give our team a call on 0845 454 2222 and we’ll do our best to help.

    Kind regards,
    Applies to ADSL services.

I'm putting money on "if you don't want to give us 30days notice thats cool, but it'll cost you £23.50"

OID.. National is what they call their BT line services AFIAK..

What are the conditions for pulling out early? Is it lilkely that the longer you have been with them the less likely it is you will pay the fee. Whereas if you still within the first year you pay the £24? sounds pants

Is it me or have virgin changed their throttling stuff again? I keep getting throttled for downloading only <600mb and uploading <200mb since 4pm.... happened 3 days in a row now.

Been happening a lot to me recently as well but I haven't been anywhere near the throttling limits. Sadly, I know exactly the sort of run around I'll get if I ring 150/151 so I can't be bothered - how sad is it that a provider can be so crap you know it's not worth complaining!

Agreed, virgin used to be ok but tbh the foreign call centres are just crap. You spend like 10mins getting hold of someone then they just tell you their script, reboot modem etc and its like IVE DONE THAT NOW WHAT?! Em sir, wait a moment. And thats the most help, if i get throttled again today im going to call them though, wish i could move to O2 but tied into contract .

They could save a lot more money by having a computer read the script.
