I have a computer in another room to where my phone line comes into my house. The people at bt say its easy to cable. Do i put the cable into the microfilter? any other advice would be appreciated

Basically, you need a microfilter wherever there is a phone plugged in.
One computer, three phones = three microfilters.
So yes, plug the phone cable from your modem into the microfilter and plug the phone at that socket into the filter as well.
no sorry, i mean that my computer is about 6m away from where my initial phone socket and i want to put more basic telephone cable intomy other room can i put it into the microfilter and into an extention phone socket in my other room
Uh, yes, providing you don't have a phone plugged into the socket where you plug your computer (modem) into. It's basically an extension cable you're going to use there, really, just that it terminates in a wall mounted socket, presumably.
