Ok, so im moving house and I'm currently with Be....checked what will be my new postcode online (its only 5mins walk from where I am now) BUT apparently my new house cant get Be...?
So I check online, and my local exchange at my new address will be - http://www.samknows.com/broadband/exchange/WMNEW
Which clearly says that Be are in that exchange as I already know, as its the exchange I am ALREADY ON...
I've called up Be broadband and explained that online says unavailable, but I know for a fact they are there - lady on the phone checks the exchange and tells me ;
"that exchange has reached capacity and we are no longer taking new orders for it"
so there you are - I cant transfer my existing account to my new property (as BT wont let me keep the same telephone number for some reason, and Be said even if I did keep the same number it still counts as a 'new order')
If its at full capacity why the hell havent they upgraded to accomodate more? It means I cant have o2 either, as theyre on the same kit
So - my next question is this - based on the details of the exchange above, what broadband should I be looking to go with?
Atm I get 10mb from Be, and my new house is closer to the exchange - I like their customer service, and I like the fact that their service isnt throttled/shaped or limited in any way...
Apparently I can get Virgin at my new place...but I dont watch anything I cant get on freeview, already have a 12month contract with BT which Im tied into for phone (which I only use for broadband) AND virgin media suck for broadband, everyone I know on one of theirs services is unhappy with it.
So who can I use now? I want at least 8mb, unlimited (properly) with no shaping/throttling.... basically I want the advertised speed, ALL the time, with no limits.... but I cant have Be / o2.... any options?
