VM have updated traffic policy again...

Here's the updated table: http://allyours.virginmedia.com/html...t/traffic.html

Edit: Also check this page http://allyours.virginmedia.com/webs...ervice.do?id=2
Does this mean M customers are upgraded to L, and L to XL. This is confusing! Also, what's this 'S' package??

Sounds about right. The caps are terrible.

Currently, I'm paying £25 (according to the bill) for the L package, but according to the second link in the OP, it should only be costing £14 with the phone line?? Am I getting ripped off?

Could be if you've got the Phone M package. That was another one of the problems with VM, they always had the knack of charging you more for what you were put on.

Wow it does seem to be the sheet package, it's the most STM'ed package from 9am-9pm with a 200mb threshold and 12h throttle time

Seems the 50mb package has no limits whatsoever at all and the others have had an increase but not a large one.

From that it looks like the XXL 50mb package isn't affected.
If that was true i'd be tempted by it (if i could get it ) but i'd be worried that they would introduce it later on.

So, do you think it's worth phoning VM?

And, I think it has changed recently. There is a line at the top of the table that says 'Updated 3rd April 2009'

Shouldn't they have like Small Medium Large, rather than Large, XL, XXL, seems a bit silly to me

20mb doesnt seem to be throttled as much as the other ones, although i suppose it does cost more, 50mb not throttled at all is good though, but it is like £60 no?

the stm schedule reflects the changes with regard to the upgrades going on.

from reading elsewhere, the 'S' size is just for people who don't want to upgrade and may leave over pricing. from my understanding M will be no longer when the upgrade is complete but L won't be upgraded, so in summary 2meg M will go to 10meg L - 10meg L will stay as is - and people who don't want upgrade can stay on 2meg S which will be for existing customers only (but this will be pants really as stm is 12hrs 9am-9pm). so there will be 3 tiers L(10meg) XL(20meg) XXL(50meg)

have a read on the cableforum site, plenty of people having trouble on the 50meg with major speed drops after d/l just a few gig. apparently there is a known vm issue regarding this but no fix time afaik.

Wow this really is confusing. We really need a VM rep to answer this.

The lowest package is there while they "upgrade" the current 2mb lines to 10mb. I don't see why it takes so much time to upgrade when the lines should be able to do 10mb anyway.

is the bb standalone or with phone? looking at the site jay, as far as i can see it's gonna be £20pm for stand alone or £24pm with phone.

i might be wrong but thats what it looks like. you could pop over and ask on cableforum (a lot of vm employees use it and are great help sometimes)
