    Download Bug...

When I try to download a file (*.zip) from www.planetemu.net and from a few other sites using Internet explorer, the browser does not ask me where to save the file, instead it starts the download procedure in the background without showing anything and once it finishes, it places the file in the Windows Temporary Internet Files and then explorer opens it in a separate window.

This doesn’t happen in all sites. Emuasylum for example is fine.

I think it started after I used ad-aware to delete some adware & after I installed Agnitum Firewall. But I could be wrong.

Is there a way to fix this bug?

    I’m using WinXP PRO SP1 & Internet Explorer 6.0

    Any help will be appreciated.
    Thanks in advance.

You could right-click on the links and use "Save Target As...".

You could also back everything up, format and reinstall Windows, but that's a little drastic just for this. However, it's good to do it every so often anyway, since things start to slow down after a while.

for that download you cant right click. It's a button that you can only press left mouse button.

you should be able to go into file types in an explorer window and choose not to handle the file type automatically. i.e. in advanced properties for file type - choose to confirm open after download.
I'm fairly sure that's the correct option.
