That is it! Symantec can kiss my ***

Endpoint is the worst bit of software I have ever had the misfortune to use.... trying to "deploy" the AV is nearly impossible, its buggy, picky and needs micromanaging to the point where stand alone AV installs would be quicker and easier! Oh and its detection rate is really poor.

If you ever have an option, never ever buy this crap!

even though I have calmed down since that post I still bloody hate it! The wonders of a 2:00am finish and a 6:00am start (4:30am out of bed)

2 nasty things tonight 1 you have read about the second a dodgy MS VM that refused to start and hosts a large website.... all I wanted to do was restart the server after some updates. bad bad day, tomorrow will be better!! (I hope)

We currently use SCS3 (Symantec Client Security 3) which is the pre-cursor to SEP11. Considering moving to it in the near future, but also considering Sophos. Any thoughts?

I have no Industry/Business knowledge of Symatec software.. but in the public domain, on private people's PC's it's nearly as bad as catching every known virus AND then losing your computer to aliens.

    it's just horrible.

Symantec: how to half the performance of your PC, with one install.

Not tried Symantec for years. Always use Avast or AVG

Sophos is certainly much better in terms of system resource utilisation, and accurate detection rates. Fortunately, I haven't used Symantec junk on a network, but my experience with network AV management with Sophos is also quite excellent.

I have used Sophos and its much beeter than Symantec. Be warned, removing Symantec from a PC is just as hard as getting in on there in the firstlpace.

Yeah I formatted my dad's laptop instead, probably took less time than it would've done to get Norton off.

Sophos is excellent, both in its network management MMC snap in, which is so wounderfully obvious at showing you the security state of your domain, but is so lean, it doesn't even get in the way of people who are developing code!

Problem is, they seam to have sod all market penetration in finance

Re: That is it! Symantec can kiss my ***

at least Norton 2009 is light on resources. the detection rates still suck so I wouldn't use it thou. I assume the next symantec products will be based on the Norton 2009 home line.

sophos can have a high fp rate if the settings are set to high so ive heard from someone who uses it at work but its still very decent.
I randomly tested sophos and the enterprise console at home once and was impressed.
kaspersky and eset are decent for business as well.

has anyone tryed f-secure in a business environment?
