    Question O2 / Be Broadband.

    Hello,

I'm on BT at the moment and I'm getting 2 Mbps so i'm thinking of switching. I live less than a mile from the exchange, and at £23 per month, I think it's worth switching.

Obviously O2 and Be are the main choices. However, this is where I am stuck, do I get Be or O2?

Be are owned by O2 and use the same equipment in the exchange, I believe. However, O2 costs alot less for the 20Mbps choice.

Are there any differences between them?

    Thanks

If you have an O2 mobile. Then go for O2 because you will get £5 off. If you don't. Then it doesn't matter. Pick one, they are virtually identical.

Has anyone else moved from BT to Be?

How long am I left without internet for? Be describes this as "a brief period"... Very specific

Hi Repressor, i moved from BT to O2 and there was about half an hour downtime..less than that i think...much better speeds and much cheaper too.

    Good luck, Roo

Sorry, I forget to mention that I made the move from BT to Be* a couple of months back. I was only down for the time it took me to swap out modems and change filters and stuff.

The online member centre and forums are brilliant. Once you get everything setup give it a few days for the line to settle. Then if you have a stable line, enable FastPath and change to a 3db profile. Which will lower your pins and increase your download speed.
