t-mobile web n walk- odd problem!

If anyone has the t mobile web n walk tick then you will know what i'm on about. Just got a text from t mobile (nothing wrong there). But when I then clicked on another message the default beep sound in vista would go off when every i clicked on a message. Looked in the sound properties for vista and found what was making the sound. Selected it and clicked 'none' but instead of no sound when i clicked on messages, all i got was another beep sound. Turned the default beep on again and it was back to before. Now the reason why this is an odd problem si that it did not happen before at all!!! Anyone got any idea why it has suddenly started?

It's definitely invoked by the program. If a program is designed to, it will playback a beep sound whether you like it or not, regardless of settings in Windows - some programs may adhere to Windows settings, but generally speaking, Windows settings are only for Windows and core Windows programs.

As you're using Vista (works in 7 too) can't you simply mute the application's audio output via the mixer (from the Windows volume icon)?
My only concern is should I hide my true identity? A costume maybe?

scaryjim: 10" is just a little large to hold comfortably in one hand, which makes it a lot harder to tap, swipe and generally interact with.
