    02 broadband & Belkin N wireless router

    We're looking at getting o2 broadband next week but we want to use a N router to help boost NAS access to our laptops etc. The router we're after doesnt have a built in modem so would i be able to use the o2 box (their standard wireless G router) as a modem, then the belkin as the wireless box?

    The Belkin router;

    The o2;

    Yes it will work just plug an ethernet cable from the 02 into the yellow port on the Belkin.

    excellent, thanks matey!

    Im guessing i should disable the wireless etc on the o2 router aswell? Also, the fact theres effectively2 firewalls, does that mean i need to enable ports on both in order to open a specific port?

    Re: 02 broadband & Belkin N wireless router

    You can do one of the following, depending on what the software in both boxes will elt you do.

    1. Configure the O2 router as a modem and diable all NAT, firewalls, DHCP, etc. and let the Belkin do all that. Do not connect any other equipment to the O2 router, just the Belkin.

    2. Configure the Belkin as an Access Point and dissable all it's NAT, DHCP and firewall functions.
