(Interstitial Plate)

If you run your broandband router from any BT socket other than the main one on your hallway/livingroom/the BT main plate then this might help

Check it out. It helps cut out interference from the extensions that your house has. So if you have 3 or 4 BT plugs around your home, fitted proffessionally or otherwise, this might cut out the background noise.

I checked ebay... they're more on there than BT are doing them for brand new delivered.

But as blackbird says, you can achieve the same effect by following the guides (provided you don't have very old legacy telephone equipment that needs the ring wire)

Good find, I've been looking for the guide for a while...I saw it a long time ago and been telling others about it but could not find it again

Definatly worth it. Did it to all my sockets and went from 3mb to 5mb.

Now they've lowered my SNR i sync at 7mbs but don't often get that speed due to being on tiscali. I know i can recive it though as if a i download in the morning i get the full speed.

Back when I first connected to Be I was around 12Mbps, but my line attenuation suggested I should be connecting at a higher speed
I-plate gained me extra 1.5Mbps only
Bell wire mod got me up to 18Mbps
the filtered face plate pushed it again 21Mbps

Sometimes it takes time for an ADSL line to adjust so maybe speed will improve over a week or two?
