AOL won't display certain web pages

    Lo people

saofg (from these forums) also known as Bishops Finger or Bish to eve and ARMA2 players, is having weird grief.

He's on AOL but only uses the ADSL connection, and uses Firefox, IE and Outlook Express with XP Pro latest SP.

Recently he's strugglin to get to read ertain web pages. He had this when I installed a router for him a few years ago, and we sussed it was the MTU settings, and we switched it to 1400 as per AOL instructions. But he's switched router to a wireless Belkin (for Wii and laptop access) and while he can surf, play online (though it fluctuates like hell in speed terrms) he can't get onto certain secure pages.

    National Lottery
    DVLA for taxing hias car
Battle Clinic for buying Eve time, which he can see but not finalise the transaction
    Nectar

    and a few others.

Anyone got any other ideas? I have been nagging him to switch ISP, but I'd like to know how to solve this first I think.

cheers 0iD, but the'yre all 1400, although the other setting is different and we've not tried that yet.

Wonder if it IS AOL's fault.

Certainly seems that way. Can he borrow another router from someone else to see if they have the same prob? Surprised you've not badgered him into buying a Draytek

he does have his old router.. he's just gotta find it

Gotta badger him out of AOL before we move to a Drayrek , although ti has to be said his cheao Dynamode (same as I suggested to you years ago) worked a treat.... and that's what he's gotta find again.
