Network cable advice

I've had to introduce a new computer to my network and have therefore had to move my router. Now I've only got one CAT cable coming into my office, but I've got my iMac in here and a PS3. Is there a cable attachment I can get that allows these two devices to use the single network cable back to the router?

Get a switch just for that 2 devices? Should only cost a tenner or two, unless you want gigabit.

You can also just use the wireless on the PS3 assuming you have a wireless network.

Something like that, just get the cheapest one possible will be fine. The Newlink one or the Edimax one will do. It is down to what you think look best

A pair of ethernet splitters (one at each end of the cable run) will also work. You are limited to 10/100, but then that's what that switch is limited to anyway.

the advantage is they don't use any power and take up less room. Also cheaper.

If you just have a long cable between rooms as opposed to hard wired wall sockets, you will need a couple of the ethernet couplers on that page as well.
