Draytek Vigor "errors on page" solution

    Hi people.

If you have draytek Vigor and you can't make certain adjustments, such as the Lan Rate Control, then it's probably because you're using the lastest versions on IE 8 and they just don't allow the changes.

It'll look like they're done, but bottom left of the screen you'll have a little yellow warning triangle and "errors on page" showing and when you leave that menu and return, the changes didn't work.

In IE8 go to Tools, and click Compatibility View.

This should also remember that your router IP address requires Compatibility view, so you shan't need to do it again.

Useful to know (if you are using IE)

also documented here (you need to register)

A useful resource anyway if you are a Draytek user.

Hey.. I am a member of that...totaly forgot

It does it in Firefox too... only works on old versions of IE it seems or using the tip I gave.

Still... I hope this ends up on Google and helps other people with the same problem. I try to word the titles in this kind of thread so that it shows up on people's searches in the future.

Here’s another good resource from the IEBlog that talks about compatibility mode in detail for anyone else interested in learning more about it: blogsdotmsdndotcom/ie/archive/2009/02/16/just-the-facts-recap-of-compatibility-viewdotaspx (Replace the "dot" with a period ".").

But generally for a better browsing experience use Opera or Firefox. Cross compatible, as both the Opera and Firefox work with Linux and Mac OS.
