    wireless network question

When I set up my wireless network made some mistake and had to reset the router. I then set up everything and all was ok. Now at the time in the networks I could see mine appeared twice. This was due to the mistake I made the first time. I deleted the first entry from those networks viewable to me.

Today I noticed that when I connected on my laptop in the list of wireless network mine would appear [network name here] 2 . Now I have not noticed that 2untill recently. I checked on my sisters laptop and it just appear as [network name here]. So what I want to know is why does a number 2 appear after the network name to me, but not to others like on my sist7ers laptop?

I'm using Vista so when i hover the cursor over the two screens and a globe it states the network name as normal with no number 2 after it. Its only when I look at the networks lists that it shows a number 2 after the network name.

    Any help would be appreciated!!

It does not really affect you, Windows named the first connection 1 and the second 2 so. This happens when you connect to a different router its only useful if you connect to different networks.

    Re: wireless network question

Windows thinks its a different network so it added the 2 on the end, useful if you connect to different networks a lot.

Ah right ok!! That may be because I connected to the uni network on my laptop too. Thanks for clearing that up!
