How to increase my internet speed using internet phone
I am working as network administrator in a call center. We are going to estabilish a new network of 35 coumputers. The problem is that browsing speed comes down when we start using voip phone. Although, i have recommended for more bandwidth to the company people but i want to know if i can increase the speed with existing bandwidth. Please let me know asap.

Surely the amount of bandwidth we are talking here in negliable, after all VoIP phones only use siginifcant amounts of bandwidth then they are actually making a call, and if that is much of a problem you can always change the codecs.
Re: How to increase my internet speed using internet phone
this looks like a QoS situation. I work as the IT capacity manager for a large financial firm and we have a VOIP system for our 12k UK/Swiss users and have implemented Quality of Service where you can setup rules and guarenteed service for certain types of traffic. I am not a network person but I do know this is how we have ensured our VOIP traffic gets the best chance it can, although I doubt this is a cheap or simple solution it may point you in the right direction

For large numbers of VoIP users I always used a dedicated line with failover to the standard line, its well worth it in the end.

There is nothing worse than being on the phone, then somebody starts off a huge download and the line starts crackling lol.
QoS is a decent optional if you can't get the second line but the latter is by far the preferred choice.
