    What to do......

First off sorry if this is in the wrong forum but i didn't know where to post this.

Calling on my fellow HeXus user i need a bit of advice.

For a while now i have been thinking about turning the spare Dell D610 Laptop i have into a router.

While some will say it's a slight overkill for it i would rather put it to some use then let it gather dust in the corner.

What would your recomendations be, IPCop/ m00nwall / SmoothWall or some other ?

PfSense is supposed to be very good - it is an offshoot (or fork) of m0n0wall. Worth looking at the two sites to see which you might prefer. (but ypou can always try both! )

    Re: What to do......

Looks interesting, reckon it will support the internal nic of the D610 laptop ?

Is it possible to use this has NTP server ?

    Does it support DyDNS ?

    What about UPnP ?

Does it allow you to put more then 2 DNS server in to forward to ?

The answer to the first one is "Yes - Probably" But it costs nothing to try it. Or you could download a Linux live CD and try it with that - but the chances are you will be OK

Not sure about the other questions - but almost certainly yes to NAT - but you will need to read the documentation on the site to determine the full capabilities.
