    NETGEAR DG834 & WNDR3700 advice.

Im looking to buy both the Netgear DG834 adsl modem/router and the WNDR3700 wireless router to replace the BT home hub I have just now.

I was wondering if anyone has experience with either of them?

Also if anybody has any recommendations of alternative kit.

I've been using the DG834G, the wireless version, for years and it's worked perfectly so I'd recommend it. Why not just get one box with everything built in?

I was thinking of getting a modem/router, but very few ADSL come with gigabyte ethernet. More are becoming available but finding good reviews on them is hard.

Yeah, I was about to buy this, for some reason thinking I'd read that it had an ADSL modem integrated into it, then thought I'd quickly check, and no, no ADSL. I'm after a few things: ADSL 2 modem, gigabit switch, Wireless N, plus things I'd hope everything has now - such as virtual server, DMZ, SPI firewall... but finding such a thing...

It came close with the (I think) N+, but they they only offered a gigabit switch on the cable modem option...

    Soon, I guess.

I have used an 834 V2 for several years, paired to a Belkin pre N wifi. I upgraded the firmware over Christmas to the latest available on the Netgear website, and everything works well. My ISP assure me that when our exchange is upgraded to CN21 in March, the setup should still be okay.
