Surely if you are under contract with AOL for 2 years you can't move ISP?

Re: which isp to go with?

Andrews and Arnold are very good, but you've got to remember their pricing is PLUS VAT.

I would generally recommend Zen, Lumison (Edinburgh based) or o2. But with a budget of £20pcm they are all out of your price range.

Bizarrely what about the Post Office - 8Meg BB for £15.61 a month? - not sure who they are reselling mind you.

Re: which isp to go with?

I used to be with Plusnet but found their capping because ridiculous. I moved to BE and went from 6Mbps to 15-16Mbps and totally uncapped/unlimited, service is excellent as well, very highly recommended.

My leet WOW-gaming brother in law recommends Be FTW, but they don't provide service in my area. Epic fail.

    ...

Did I use those phrases correctly?

@Shooty, you need to use newb or NOOB more; let me show you.

moneysavingexpert.com sometimes has some leet deals. be had a deal FTW but not in my area too! NOOBS

We have plusnets but they are noobs who cripple our connection when we go over the limit. NOOBS.

Re: which isp to go with?

I usually would recommend plusnet as an all-round reliable ISP to go with.

But the last 2 weeks they have been absolutely slow. Especially for something like video streaming!

Zen are pricey but you don't get confusion.

You can also get good, objective comparisons on the which website. Zen Active will cost you around £24.50 a month but is well worth it. Their customer service is great!

You will pay £1.00 for using Which? during your trial period. After this, your subscription will automatically continue at £9.75 per month (incl. VAT). Payments will be taken monthly once your trial period comes to an end
Ask around, speak to your mates, neighbours - don't waste money on Which.

Re: which isp to go with?

I'd add another rec for PlusNet but it sounds like you have slightly unusual requirements which they might not be able to meet. Shame, they've been great for me.

Phone AOL and barter. I'm with them a 8mb unlimited download at about £14 a month or maybe it's £30 plus phone which is still worth doing
