    VM Broadband prices?

According to VM's website the 20Mb package costs £20pm (says nothing about new customers only or anything) however I'm currently paying a fair bit more than that for the 10Mb package, is it worth phoning them to get the price checked/get upgraded to 20Mb for less? Are VM just not bothering to update prices for their customers or something?

    Re: VM Broadband prices?

First attempt failed - just kept saying I must have missed something because that's for new customers only and that price would raise to what I'm paying now after 12 months, doesn't say anything like that on the website in the small print so will try again in a bit and hopefully get through to someone more helpful.

Ask if you are not as valued as a new customer?

You gotta push these retentions people (sometimes off a cliff).

    Re: VM Broadband prices?

You get this a lot with Virgin. All these prices are for new customers only yet their website does not state this. However when you call them about it, a few hours later the webpage updates to show new customers only. The only real path for existing customers is to go to the 50MB lines if you have their TV and Phone package you should get it for around £28 a month which is what I am looking at atm as I am on the 20MB line and paying more for that than I could get the 50MB.

    Re: VM Broadband prices?

Still no joy. Check this webpage to see if I'm missing something but it doesn't say anywhere that it's for new customers - it says under the bit for a wireless router and free connection that they're only for new customers but nothing about the deal. They keep palming me off with some crap about it being free for two months then going to £50 for new customers or something but basically everything they're saying is completely different to what's on the website in front of me. I threatened to leave and she said oh well it's your choice isn't it? Is this false advertising or something/what could I say if I phoned again - I'll try to make a list of things to say or something so I'm fully prepared. TBH they just sounded like they couldn't be bothered talking today...

Hate to say it, but thats the way VM are these days, i dont like them at all. Their customer service is god awful you ask me. Having been with o2 its nice to be treated as if they'd like you to stick around.

Thanks, at least I know it can be done now Won't go as far as to push for a free router or anything but £25pm (the same as you were) for 10 meg is an utter rip-off!
