    windows 7 networking..

    hi there
i have a pc and a laptop. They both have windows 7.

The pc is connected to the internet via a router, (ethernet)
and the laptop connected via wireless.

please can you help me find a way to make them see each other on the network. I want to be able to use printer sharing and also transfer files on the network from pc to laptop and also vice versa.
I have tried to set the homegroup name the same but they still just won't find each other.

Please point me in some helpful directions. Thanks
    Dentist, and general teeth lover.

    Re: windows 7 networking..

If both are running windows 7, this is quite easy:

    1) Open "Network and Sharing Centre" - of you have an internet icon in the bottom left of your screen you can do it by right clicking that icon

    2) Under "view you active networks" you will see an icon of a house with "home network"
    Click on home network

    3) You will get a dialogue box with three choices "home network, work network, public network", select home network and follow the instruction of the set-up wizard.
