    Wireless N Adaptor?

    I purchased a belkin F5D8633UK4A Wireless N router last week and need a wireless adaptor to go with it. Its for use with my desktop PC so usb or pci is fine. Ideally don't want to be spending over £35 tops.

    Thanks

    Re: Wireless N Adaptor?

    I would recommend the edimax EW-7728In PCI wireless adaptor along with the additonal MARS antenna relocation part as I've been using this wireless card for over 15 months now and it has been very stable and had no issues at all with various x64 versions of the main current operating systems.

    This is what i've been looking at as the relocation kit seems ideal. Do you have an ETA?

    Re: Wireless N Adaptor?

    I have Windows 7 RC1 and tried to get a usb version of that Edimax working with it. It trys to connect at 415.12Gbps which needless to say doesn't work. Any ideas?

    Try upgrading your operating system to the release version as there have been various fixes implemented between the transition of RC1 and the release version. Not only that, now your going to start seeing messages and stuff from MS regarding using this and migrating across as shown at the following link ;

    other than that the other things I can think of are getting updated drivers from the edimax website and also trying another USB port if available.

    Re: Wireless N Adaptor?

    I tried the latest I could find on the Edimax website, and from windows update, and some older ones, all the same problem. Tried all the USB ports on first machine and two on second machine, one on the case and one on the back plate.
    Makes no differance anymore Win7 RC1 is dead, may it rest in silicon heaven.
    I've dug Vista up from Silicon hell lol for the 64bit PC.
    Win7 is too expensive still, I know Scan are doing all they can to get the price down but I understand you can't install two copies anymore, making it twice as expensive as XP. I have a older 32bit PC in the sitting room, now has XP and 64bit in the Man room.
    Personally I think Win7 Should be a free upgrade too all those with Vista to make up for the fact Vista was and is soooo bad!! even with SP2 its noticeable slower than 7 was and I've only installed Service packs, updates, Kaspersky and Office.

    Edit: USB wifi works perfectly in XP and Vista
