Question Weird problem with Netgear DG384GT

    Hi all

I'm having a peculiar issue with my new Netgear DG834GT router. I'm connecting my PC and Xbox360 to it via Ethernet and sometimes my Nokia 5800 mobile and laptop via wireless.

The issue I'm having is that while my PC always has connectivity to the interwebs, I frequently have no connectivity from my Xbox to either XBL or the PC (video streaming via MEdia Player 11). The only way to fix this problem is to reboot my router and everything works fine. This also applies to the mobile phone and the laptop and while they appear to connect to the router wirelessly, I can do nothing on the network until I restart the router.

Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks.

Edit: the router has the latest official Netgear firmware, which I installed myself after debranding it from Sky.

Do you have port forwarding/UPnP configured correctly? This could be the issue.

I just have uPnP turned on, no port forwarding (not needed with upnp as far as I know).

Re: Weird problem with Netgear DG384GT

Are they losing their IP address if DHCP is set on them? if so try setting them static, something may have gone wrong with the router's DHCP server somehow but it probably isn't this.

When you say no connectivity, do you mean you cannot access any other device on the same network? or just you can see some and not others?

Re: Weird problem with Netgear DG384GT

Good point, I've not checked whether the IP is gone. I'll check it when it happens again!

By no connectivity I mean that I can't access other devices nor can I access the internet. It's as if the router isn't there... I'll check the IP thing though, thanks
