    Wireless Signal Boosters

I know that you can get wireless signal boosters/access points which you can plug into the router by eathernet, but was wondering if you can get fully wireless ones (no eathernet to router). Does anyone have any experiance with these, and/or know which ones are good. Thx, will404

    Re: Wireless Signal Boosters

I have one myself and it can do one of three things:
    Access point (connected to router)
Repeater (connected only to power, it boosts the wireless signal it receives)
Bridge (allows you to create a wireless bridge between two wired networks).
I think most are the same.

    Re: Wireless Signal Boosters

Be careful, most repeaters (that I found, I may be wrong) can't repeat a WPA protected network, only WEP.

    Re: Wireless Signal Boosters

The one I have is discontinued but it can repeat WPA so I'm sure most new models could do it. Here's a list of them on Scan, not sure if they all support repeater mode but I think at least most of them do: http://www.scan.co.uk/Shop/Computer-...Points-Bridges
