    Cheapest but Reliable Web Hosting

    Hi there,

I want to host my website on a web server that doesn't have 99% uptime which the current one claims too but I think it is much worse than that. It has been down for between 2-4 hours a day for 4-5 days in 2 weeks now for various reasons their end and I want to host it, ideally in the UK with a company that has a good record of uptime as well as being inexpensive per month to host.

I wouldn't require much data size wise on there or much bandwidth as it is a small site.

If anyone can point me in the right direction I'd be very greatful.

    Thanks

I use and have been recommended evohosting.co.uk - QIQ seem to have an offer on for 24 hours once a month where they give a years hosting for normally around a pound, so worth looking at.

Who is the company you are having trouble with?

Would recommend renting a whole server on Leaseweb, cost 348 euros per year for the cheapest server and you get your own standalone server. I have yet to see any downtime this year.

While it look expensive you have guaranteed cpu, memory and bandwidth available to you 24x7 not sharing with some other people. And less likely to be hacked through someone else's website.

I've used them for over 4 years. Really fast basic machine for pretty much the lowest price in the whole Europe.

Re: Cheapest but Reliable Web Hosting

    Thanks for the replies.

I have signed up for the basic package with Evo Hosting @ £2.94 a month as I doubt it will excede 10GB bandwidth a month or even close to that tbh.

I cannot contact them as the client side is down as it says they're moving it to another server.

I was wondering if it is possible to use an e-mail that I setup - ben@domainname.com and obviously I can recieve e-mails this way but is there a way of sending them from the address I recieve them from from a webpage and not by using outlook etc?

Also, can I park domains with them as I have 4 more, if I can't or it costs extra I will just web forward my other ones from where they're registered and point them at the one that I setup with Evo Hosting.

    Thanks

I've always found virtualnames to be very good.

I found 34sp.com to be cheap, reliable and pretty responsive on the support side.

Re: Cheapest but Reliable Web Hosting

Hostgator is a safe choice for most. Lurking around webhostingtalk.com the cheaper yet reliable ones aren't many even more so for UK based hosts. Perhaps the only one worth mentioning is http://www.tsohost.co.uk
If you're okay with US based ones, hawkhost.com would be the one to go for.
I personally use powermonster.net and have been fine for the past year with them

Yeah really quite excessive and I'd say security wise you're far more vulnerable unless you're very good at hardening a server and keeping up to date, or pay someone else.
