I use the 20Mb service and have had no problems with eve or wow. Download from steam are nice and fast too.

thx for the info , just got it today (self install) and ready to try online gaming lol
It works well, much better than BT. Though I think most work better than BT
If you play P2P console games though you will host like a bugger.

I get around 11-20 from Salford on the Manchester server.

should the modems give off an odd smell ?
As in that 'new' smell ?

maybe but i have never had that smell with new pc bits , feels warm aswell but not so that it burns you lol
just the parts bedding in, you wont notice it soon, and yes they get very warm
the box the modem came in looks like it had been a football , brown tape all over it
I gave up with VM, pings where all over the place and speeds where very very bad.

I was on their 10mb M package service and found it ok at first. Then the speed got bad and pings were going all over the place. It was bad a peak times and even after it at midnight where i would only just about get 1mb download! I got a new cable modem from virgin as I had a quite old one apparently. Seemed to notice the speed went up afterwards too.
Our is quite large and found that we was near the limit for speed capping. Ended up going to the 20MB service and it has been great even in the peak times.
whats the download limit which causes the capping in speed on the 10mb (L package) per day ? , what time do they call peak times ?
