    router issue

Right ive had this netgear router for a few years and its been dead solid but recently i had a couple of drops so rebooted and as normal all sorted. However i noticed last week that i cant access the routers options via ip (192.168.1.1) it just doesnt load or ask me for a login, i needed to login to get the WEP key for my phone.

Tried many things, hard reset (back button), power off/on, modem reset but still cant access it.
Any ideas on how to fix this?

    Re: router issue

Netgear default IP is sometimes 192.168.0.1 - if you've reset it, it should revert to that.

    Can you ping the IP?

    Re: router issue

Pretty much most the off the shelf routers will use the 192.168.0.1 ip to get to the admin page. I know Dlink, Linksys and Netgear generally do, Belkin to from memory.

Ay as said, 192.168.0.1 for every Netgear router I've got.

    Re: router issue

Ipconfig /all and see what your default gateway is - that'll be your router ip.

    Re: router issue

Yes the IP used to be 192.168.0.1 and has been for all my previous netgear routers but when we got this it was 192.168.1.1. and even said so in teh manual .

Just did IP config and glad you mentioned that splash, seems my router IP is now 10.0.0.1 and am now logged on. Seems odd to change to that though xD.

Any idea how to change back to 192.168.1.1? cause ill forget it i bet.

    Re: router issue

On the left hand side menu, if you select Lan IP Setup the top line can be changed. On the right hand side help section it mentions default is 192.168.0.1

    Re: router issue

Yeah, set the ip of the router to 192.168.0.1 and the netmask to 255.255.255.0
Make sure the dhcp settings are in the same range i.e. 192.168.0.2 - 192.168.0.254 as per the screenshot.
