DNS server not responding

Since last night, the only sites I've found that I can navigate are hexus and google - true for both this PC and my iPod on WiFi. So I ran the Win 7 troubleshooting thing and it's telling me that the DNS server is not responding but not a lot about what to do next.

How does one go about fixing my current problem?

The problem arose spontaneously and I'm on BT Unlimited.

Yep, ipconfig /flushdns has been tried as well as multiple reboots.

BBC News seems to work a bit, too...

Ok have you tried using different DNS servers? OpenDNS server IP's are 208.67.222.222 and 208.67.220.220

That doesn't seem to have worked :/

EDIT: Actually a few more sites are working now, including Facebook. But just off my bookmarks, ebay and tvguide.co.uk are still having issues D:

Have you tried putting the DNS server IP address(es) in the IPconfig of the computer? (rather than relying on the DNS forwarding function of the router). That can sometimes give faster and more reliable DNS lookups. But it is a pain having to do that on each computer on the network.

I've been having the same problem for days now.....although for me it's fine after a router reboot and then it happens again.....suspecting a DDoS attack.

Does your ISP supply you a static or dynamic IP?

Try Google's DNS servers:
8.8.8.8
8.8.4.4

Define them on your router's settings. They make my web browsing super-fast!
