Do any decent wireless N access points/routers have gigabit ports?

I never see the point of 270-300mbps over wireless N but then having 10/100 ports....

Access point or Router, hopefully not too much cash, with at least 1 gigabit port.

I think the point is that no human has ever got "270-300mbps over wireless N".

All it takes is some bloke to fart in India and the next thing you know, you are connected at 1mbps. Ie there is a huge difference between theoretical and actual performance.

with my old wireless router I consistently got speeds *above 200...

Its not the connection speed of the wireless - router, its the throughput that matters.

And for the record, my downstairs HTPC is connected @ 270mbps wireless.

USED to be good...they let their name blind the consumer.

That's why I quoted the reviews...my mate uses it and has never had any issues. Overall, I would rather go for Linksys or Netger rather than DLink. For starters, both Linsys and Netgear run Linux stacks which are quite robust and has lot of 3rd party support and mods available.

What model was it? I've been looking at the 2820 but if I'm spending that kind of money I want to know that it's bullet proof. I'm getting a bit cheesed off with my Zyxel router resetting itself a couple of times a day ....
