Looking for a cheap Wireless card for my pc upstairs. Can someone recommend one that is both cheap and proven to be a good model? Thanks

Had an Edimax EW-7728In recommended to me (PCI not PCI express) in this thread

Can't vouch for it as loaned PC to a family as their PC decided to die. So didn't order the adaptor.

    Re: Wireless card

Bought this (or something like it) recently

    http://www.novatech.co.uk/novatech/p...NOV-54USB.html

Cheap and cheerful. Reason I say something like it is that it is a generic, and I suspect Novatech just buy an OEM bit of kit and re-brand it. But at £7.00 +P&P it has to be worth a punt. (Or if you are near Portsmouth, Bristol, Cardiff or Reading, you can just collect it - and return it easily if it doesn't work! )

They do quite a range of own brand and branded devices which might be worth considering.

Decided to go for: Edimax EW-7128G £9.99 from Amazon, delivered! Looks like it works ok with windows 7 too. Drivers available from manufacturers website.

Glad you got it sorted - at £10 you can't really go wrong, even if it doesn't work! I went to Novatech because I needed it in a hurry and it is (relatively) local to me.

Works fine. Got it today. Signal is weak but works all the same!
