    Dgteam - dg834(g)-v4 - 5.01.16 rev. 1014

Has anybody updated a DG834G (v4) with this?

Tried today, after update using the Recovery Utility tool the router isn't available. The internet light flashes green once, ethernet port light flashes showing a connection with laptop but vista/win7 shows "limited connectivity".

Tried rebooting laptop & router, nothing.

Using the same Recovery Utility to put back on the official Netgear firmwares (v9 and v16 - not v14 as that stops VOIP working, which is fixed in v16) - the router works flawlessly.

note: looking at DGTeam firmware to get Wake on Internet working, only way apparently.

Nevermind - DGteam pulled the download, failed for others too.

Out of interest, what are the main advantages of the latest working DGTeam firmware over the latest Netgear one?

    I did and I couldn't understand it!

I was hoping someone could put it into slightly less technical speak.

EDIT: here's the link if anyone fancies translating...

    Re: Dgteam - dg834(g)-v4 - 5.01.16 rev. 1014

When they release a working version I'll gladly post up some screenshots - basically the management web pages are extended - more menu options, more options on the page.

I've mentioned I'm looking to use it for "Wake on Lan" over internet - which you can only do via LAN with the Netgear firmware (ie I can leave my home server switched off but plugged in, log in to router's management website remotely - once enabled - and access a menu option to send the Wake on Lan to the server, then power down when finished with it).

I believe there's also ability to setup multiple wireless SSIDs, put lockdown schedules on the wireless, I think also tweak your noise margin and have the router remember it (whereas you would use eg DMT tool to connect, set the noise margin but it would be lost on next router power cycle).

DGteam firmware also provides more options when you telnet into the router - beyond my capabilities though, not something I've bothered to look at.

Still not working despite some changes, they're working on it though...
