Is there Nas type router with a USB port that would read data from a Drobo ?

Hi I have a drobo V2. Would like to be able to attach my drobo via USB or even firewire 800 port (If there is support for it)..... And to be able to stream the data via ethernet cable to different rooms in my house.

Most of the files will be 1080p MKV files. Is it important to have a router with gigabit port ?

I am not sure what type of router I would need to buy and even if it would read all the data stored across all my hard drives in the Drobo.

Is there such a router that can do this and would best suit my needs ?

If your after a router for streaming video, then the best thing to look for is a router with features like the one I have at the moment.

My Router has a USB port on the back of it labelled as "Storage link" and if I connect my HDD full of media to it, it distributes the media files to various players around the house via the DLNA server built in.

There is also at least one Draytek with USB share support, and I would imagine most of the other manufacturers have similar devices.

That router doesnt have Gigabit ports does that matter ? Looking to stream HD

You should be fine - depends on bit-rates etc.

Does that router listed work as a modem router for my ADSL broadband as well ?

You can have a Draytek which will replace your router, wifi and also do this... they aren't cheap but they are exceptionally good.

Thanks mate. Will buy one of there routers then. They seem to sell a lot can you point out which one suits my needs best :-)
