    Wireless in a large space

Need to find a way to get wireless over a large area (warehouse) but without drop when it swaps from one AP to the next..

Current kit being used is WAP200's in the offices if we could include these that'd be grand..

Failing that someone suggested Cisco Aironet kit..

yeah thats how we have it setup at the mo but if the HHT is connected to one AP it wont shift to the next if the signal is stronger it'll just hold onto a weak signal until it is lost, then pause while it picks up the next AP..

Re: Wireless in a large space

our laptops used to just grap the AP that was giving the strongest signal, it might be a setting on the HHT (I assume that means Hand held Terminal? )

Yeah, but then if you move the laptop what does it do, does it stay on the AP it originally picked or does it skip to another if the signal is strong?
Will check the HHT (yes btw) and seee if theres owt on there..

Re: Wireless in a large space

They would switch silently to the strongest AP

There's usually a setting for that in the wireless adapter (at least for intel?) on laptops?

Re: Wireless in a large space

At my site we use Cisco wireless controllers which control the handover between APs.
