    bridging issues

let me try and explain the current situation I have!

    1. Netgear ADSL router (192.168.0.1) connected via ethernet to WAN port on linksys (192.168.1.1) (with tomato).
    2. linksys provides wireless to pc/ipod etc. I don't use wireless from netgear as it interferes with my PS3 controllers.
    3. PS3 is connected directly to the netgear router via a cable - as it's way better for downloading from PS3 network. It's a common problem with PS3s so a cable is the only option. The netgear is directly next to the PS3.
    4. I have no way of getting a cable from the linksys to the PS3 ( I can't move the wireless router as it's in a good place, and the ADSL router can't be moved either).

Currently the PS3 cannot stream from anything that is on the linksys router, as it's on a different subnet I believe? With my current situation, how can I stream from a laptop on the linksys, into the wan port, into the netgear and out to the PS3? I think I need to bridge them? maybe that's the wrong word!

    any advice appreciated! Cheers.

Connect the Netgear to a LAN port on the Linksys. Disable the DHCP server on the Linksys and change the LAN interface to 192.168.0.2.

That way the Netgear is doing all the routing with the Linksys acting as a wireless access point and switch only. Everything is then on the same network.

will it need to be a cross over cable between the LAN ports on each router?

No it won't. Straight through cable needs to be used.

It doesn't matter, cross or straight will work.
