Connection teaming and Load Balancing Routers

Has anyone any experience with this? for those who dont know what it is
basically you put two internet connections together to get double the speed.

Does anyone know of one which works with WiFi?

I have found a reasonably cheap LBR from broadbandbuyer for £210 inc vat
    Linksys RV082 8-Port Load Balancer w/VPN Endpoint

I was thinking of adding my cable connection to a couple of my friends wireless networks giving a total of 4.5 Mpbs (if we all had 1.5 when NTL sticks it up)

I have also found some software Sygate Office Network 4.5 (4.5.851 )
which allows you to turn your PC into a sever which does this and can run on an old computer

just thought some peeps would like to know about it. any info on this kind of thing would be handy too, cheers.

I've given teaming a go and you'll only really get the speed when using somethign that downloads from multiple sources such as bittorrent ( remember its not a 4.5 meg link , its 3 * 1.5's )

are your friends next door ? - have you already got the wifi set up ?

not looked at that sygate software before , but it sounds intresting.

I can join with my friends wireless net but as im not sure how it works in reality we
havent decided to do it or not. I thought Bit torrent would work, and also i thought
maybe something like download accelerator might too. Its hard to find much in the
way of info from people who have tried it. If only i had the money to waste to find out.

It should give increased bandwith off any network as the router will take care of initiating 2 or 3 or 4 connections to whatever server your trying to download off and them streaming them as one download to your PC.

Mind you, that £200 LBR sounds cheap, so whether it has the above functionality is another matter.
