    Question Can't find wireless network?

    Hi Guys,

I've got a bit of a problem when at a friends house finding his wireless network.

I'm using a Dell Studio 1555 laptop with a Dell Wireless 1510 Wireless-N Wlan Mini-Card. I scan for networks and find loads of networks at my friends house but can't find his network yet he can find it on his desktop and laptop without any problems.

If I plug in his RT73 USB Wireless LAN card it finds his network instantly and I can connect no problems.

I'm really confused as to why my laptop can't seem to find his network with its own network card, are their any ways to fix this problem? Or am I stuck having to borrow his USB network card every time I need to use this internet?

    Thanks
    Sacred

Check for updated drivers or firmware for the internal card.

Thanks Funkstar, I don't know why I didn't think of doing this manually instead of relying on Dells own update centre which didn't pick up that the card had new drivers available!!

Might not fix it, but there is a good chance it will. And even if it doesn't, it's always best to have the newest anyway

    Re: Can't find wireless network?

You will need to get the latest wireless drivers availbale for your card. My Office has all Dell's and this was a common issue on the older makes but after updating the wireless drivers, this fixed the issue..

    Re: Can't find wireless network?

I've had this happen before, you might need to change the channel on his router if the drivers don't sort it.
