A question about Telewest broadband installations

Hi, i've been trying to get broadband installed for a while, was going to go for bt due to them not need to bring a cable into the house but unfortunately our line isn't good enough, my question is, does anyone know if it's a case of the engineers just bringing the cable in to the house at the easiest point for them or if they'll wire it around the outside of the house first and then into it in an appropriate place? i just ask because, where they would most liking want to bring it up the outside of the house, is where we plan on installing a window.

Actually, we have. The initial presentation point for the cable connection was downstairs in the living room, but the engineer wired an extension through to our study, where most of the stuff that goes beep lives. I can't say definitely, but I suspect that if you made the circumstances clear they'd wire it through in an appropriate place.

Yeah, the guy who did ours seemed to be happy to route it whichever way we wanted.

i have mine upstairs and the cable guy was more than happy to spend the time to tac it on the wall, hide the cables and even did a good clean up job to colour sealant the same colour as the bricks outside top job

cheers guys, sounds like they are very accommodating then, sounds like grey m@a was in much the same situation as i am, cause for me it needs to more or less come right around to the extention at the back of the house. what i don't get though, is how much cable is usually above ground outside, i mean where do they bring it in from out on the street etc...

they will probably take it round the side of the house hiding it on the lower wall or over the roof and tac it to the roof and walls, ask them what they can do then see how they can accomodate your needs, BY will normally do it as at the end of the day its a customer to them that they want to keep
