    ACTA - scary?

I was listening to a friend talking about ACTA, some treaty where governments essentially control ISPs and therefore the Internet in countries in which it's established. Also I heard this protects the people enforcing it from any other laws so they can come and take your computer for a 'random security check' for no reason. I mean I have strong opinions about piracy and have nothing pirated on my computers but the way it was told it certainly sounds scary - I may not have anything pirated or illegal on my PC but I still wouldn't want someone forcefully taking it for no reason. Have I heard an over-hyped version or is it really this scary? Sorry if this is old but I've not come across it before.

there is some hope in the eu though. the eu parliament has sided against the Treaty and it is going to struggle to get ratified. by the time this becomes law ( if it ever does the insternet and tech will be 10 step ahead.

Is the bit about the 'random security checks' where they remove hardware from your home true?

If you Google ACTA you should be able to find the recent leaked doc for it, interesting reading to say the least. Don't have the link handy as I am on the phone atm.

    http://www.laquadrature.net/files/201001_acta.pdf

That should be the link for the recent leaked doc
