    Fttc or O2 LLU

    Hey guys,

Currently have O2 LLU and download speed are averaging at 3mbps. Line is apparently quite long. I pay £15 per month for this. Not particularly happy.

BTinfinity (FTTC) is apparently active on the local exchange and via the BT website I can get speeds up to 15mbps (I used to have 16mbps with O2 before I moved) for £24 per month.

Question is do i just go for the faster ISP? O2 have been really good customer service wise but I can find no information on them even speculatively offering FTTC.

If we want to watch anything via iPlayer on the telly (via PVR) it's not possible unless i get off the internet on the computer.

Anyone using FTTC atm? will O2 offer FTTC anytime soon?

I doubt that 15Mbps would be FTTC, double check it actually says BT Infinity next to it on the speed checker thing. At that speed it would probably be ADSL2+ like you have with O2.

Umm, the posted picture's really quite clear 2.5mb on ADSL and 15mb on BT Infinity

Personally, I'm dubious about BT's customer service, had some bad experiences with them whilst trying to get new lines setup, but if you really need that extra speed then it's your only real choice (Virgin is *not* a choice for anyone half sensible )

The picture wasn't there when I posted, it says "Last edited by smelly; Yesterday at 02:34 PM." at the bottom of the post, about 3.5h after I posted.
Which is why replying in the OP isn't a great idea - stuff like this happens and it doesn't show up as updated in our subscription lists.

    Re: Fttc or O2 LLU

ok i did update the OP to provide more info after Watercooled comment. O2 have replied that it's unlikely to get FTTC service for it's customers in the next 12 months

The 15mbps is quite conservative according to the BTinfinity website. Most folks are seeing 30mbps. Virgin have no service on our road.

I've asked for my MAC from O2, shame really as BT customer service isn't up to much.
