Netgear MS2000 Stora
Looking at buying the following item
http://www.ebuyer.com/product/225067
I want a NAS box that will automatically backup my hard drive and that I can access the files from any DNLA device or net browser from any computer.
I can't work out if this will do these things. I see there is a premium service software which incurs a annual fee. does the standard free software work.

Re: Netgear MS2000 Stora
I considered a stora, but ended up getting a readynas, although the stora was around £80 when I looked. Heres a comparisson of them

readynas is around £120 with a 500Gb drive (via redemption coupon).

Re: Netgear MS2000 Stora
Big price difference though between the two. £50 for one and £120 for the other.
If I was going to spend £120 mark I would look at Synology stuff as I've had some experience with setting one of their products up and it worked flawlessly, but didn't learn much as it was all very simple.
I can't really afford too much for this, so the MS2000 looked very temping.

Re: Netgear MS2000 Stora
I've been looking at this too. Seems it has a lot of great features.
Just trying to justify the initial price, in the long run it's alot cheaper than me keeping my PC on all the time, but £50.. :(

Apparently, someone bought one yesterday and received the offer for the free 500GB, even though it's expired according to the Netgear website.

Re: Netgear MS2000 Stora
I have been looking into recent feedback from sites regarding the Netgear STORA MS2000 and alot of people are happy with it. I wonder if alot of the earlier negative reviews and feedback was down to old software which has been updated and improved alot.
At £50 I think I will give it a go.
