    Settings like?

EDIT - assuming that the Be connection details are the same as the O2, does this help?

Re: ASUS dsl-g31 on o2? how?

ok where to start! so the first page gives you these options,

    "step1. ATM PVC config"

    VPI:
    VCI:
Service category: (list of options UBR without PCR etc)

Now its the service cat that stumps me, im unsure which one to put it on!

    "step2 connections type"

    PPP over ATM (PPPoA)
    PPP over Ethernet (PPPoE)
    MAC Encapsulation Routing (MER)
    IP over ATM (IPoA)
    Bridging

Encapsulation mode (2 choices, they are : LLC/SNAP-BRIDGING or this can be SNAP-ROUTING. Or its: VC/MUX)

Enable 802.1q (option to tick a box)

    "step 3:
This is dependant on what i do in the first few steps....so what do you think so far? i've tried so many different configs so far!

Re: ASUS dsl-g31 on o2? how?

Ah. I assumed it would be the same as my bethere connection. My Netgear router with dgteam firmware has 3 options: dynamic, static ip and IPoA. As a bethere customer I use static ip with details they provided. I guess you'll need to use dynamic if the option is listed.

Are you connected via LLU or BT ipstream?

For BT ipstream you'll need to use:

    PPPoA encapsulation
    VPI = 0
    VCI = 38
    VC-Based multiplex
    MTU 1500 or 1492

Re: ASUS dsl-g31 on o2? how?

    From http://www.o2help.co.uk/broadband-settings/

Routing protocol: Bridged Ethernet, Ethernet over ATM, RFC 1483, RFC 2684
IP address: choose to get dynamically from the ISP
DNS servers: choose to get automatically from the ISP
    Multiplexing method: LLC-Based
    VPI: 0
    VCI: 101
    ADSL Mode: Auto
    MTU: 1500

Does that help? You should disable 802.1q as that's related to VLAN tagging, and you really don't need to be playing with VLANs when you're struggling to get a router online

Re: ASUS dsl-g31 on o2? how?

Right, i've inputed them settings and still no connection, dsl light is lit up but internet light just keeps flashing. I read one other post on the o2 forums about how the exchange has to "forget" your not using the O2 wireless hub 2 before this ASUS will connect, now he had to wait half an hour for his to work, i'm going to give it over night with the correct settings and hope to god it works!

Re: ASUS dsl-g31 on o2? how?

    Razer.

I setup a new router on sunday for my o2 connection and i had to call them up and get a raden password and username.

I'll post all of my settings when I get home.

My connection connected within a few seconds once I had entered the details. after spending about 30 mins trying to get it to connect with no user name and pw.

I was on the phone to o2 for the whole of 5 mins to get my UN & PW
