    iPass is pants isn't it?

It's no use to me at all...... but I'm very pleased to hear the OP has such great speeds from 3G

    Fair play... fair play

I just got a new e585 modem (the mifi one) and i must admit it is pretty fancy, works well and has a nice interface.

However I read it only works on 3G and HSPDA networks and not 2G.

I use it on odd occasions and for less than £100 a year I think its a backup worth having.

Re: Very impressed with 'Three' 3G mobile broadband - anyone else use it at home?

It gets better. I cancelled my ADSL (and phone line), then signed up for a 24month contract (15GB) and got £80 cash from Quidco (paid). I then phoned 3 to cancel my 30 day contract (5GB), but i did not say why and they said they would up my allowance to 15GB per month. So i then cancel the 24 month contract and i am now on a 30 day rolling contract with 15GB (plenty for me).

On top of that, it seems to be getting faster...

Might get a better router now. I deserve some good luck after the year i have had!

My MiFi is pretty impressive. I regurally get 2 or 3Mb/s down off it, way better than my TalkTalk at home.
On the downside I get no 3G signal at home.

Have you tried it in different upstairs windows on different sides of the house? I get no 3G signal at all anywhere in my house apart from one upstairs window where i get full signal. Even a few feet back into the room and it completely drops. My dongle is now selotaped to the glass and i often see 6mbps down with a ping under 80 in the evening. Even just resting on it the windowsill dropps back to 1-3 mbps.

Re: Very impressed with 'Three' 3G mobile broadband - anyone else use it at home?

You can always get a dedicated 3G antennae hooked up to some modems too, especially if you can get line of sight to the transmitter, they're much more sensitive and should help reliability a bit if you're in a slightly more marginal area

I've got one for when my ADSL decides to flip out

I've just had a wander round the house, but it's no good.
Then again I have a 3 mobile and never get the 3g signal at home.

Still the mifi is good when it works.

Re: Very impressed with 'Three' 3G mobile broadband - anyone else use it at home?

Yeah, it all depends on where the transmitters are, what else is around you, and what the building you're in is made of..

Are work we get virtually zero signal, as soon as we go outside, boom max 3G.. The place is built like a giant Faraday cage..

There may be some hope of improved 3G if the government allow the sell off of the 800/900Mhz spectrum - the lower frequency helps it travel further and through things like buildings without knackering the signal..

Re: Very impressed with 'Three' 3G mobile broadband - anyone else use it at home?

Yeah I'm looking into getting an external antenna now just to get the absolute max performance I can. But I am having trouble finding out the exact location of the transmitter I'm using, which I need to know so I can have the antenna pointing directly at it.

I have been told I might not see a great speed increase but should be able to get my ping/latency down a bit more. What I am getting now is ok for many games, but need to get closer to 50/60 for fps games. Not sure if that's posible though.
