My friend's laptop is having some problems. It works fine at his house and he can connect to wi-fi no problems, but he recently moved into a flat and he can't load up any websites at all.
What happens is the wireless connection appears fine but when you try to load up a website it takes forever, you'd be lucky to get a page opened up. We tried resetting the wireless adaptor, turning the router off and back on, we tried disabling the firewall and any anti-virus software, we tried plugging an ethernet cable directly to the router but the same problem persists. Running windows diagnostics doesn't yield anything either because it just says your internet is working fine.
The funny thing is his flatmates can all connect to the internet fine, and his laptop works perfectly at his family house. He took it to a computer repair shop just last week and the 'technician' there said he couldn't see anything wrong with it. So it just doesn't work at his new flat when all his flatmates can use it with no problems.
Do you guys have any ideas?
P.S. the OS is Vista Home Premium 32bit, it's an Acer laptop (only 2 years old, not too sure about exact specs), the ISP is UPC (we're in Ireland). Thanks in advance guys.
