    Email server/domain migration advice recommendations?

    Hello fellow Hexites,

I've been pondering a move like this for a while and think Christmas will give me the best opportunity to get it done. What I currently have is:

My emails and a couple of domains (just frame redirects) hosted with 1and1.co.uk, webspace currently borrowed.

    What I would like is:

My emails and a couple of light websites hosted together. For emails I use IMAP exclusively, and have a 2 accounts and a few addresses that forward to folders. Websites - all I really need is php. A mysql server would be fun for trying things out but certainly not essential. I've got 3 websites to cater for, nothing high bandwidth or overly fancy.

Something like 1&1 business seems to suit the bill, but I'm not adverse to changing providers unless people think this is going to be difficult? I guess I need to back up all my emails locally, transfer the domains and then cancel my contract with 1&1 and cross my fingers that I'm not down for too long! Does £9 a month seem like a reasonable amount? QiQ Premium seems a lot cheaper (£20/year) but doesn't appear to have IMAP and doesn't include any free domains.

    Thoughts, opinions? Cheers!

I use 1and1 home service and just paid a couple of quid per year for additional domains. I run 4 websites off it, the main one getting about 1000 hits a month. You get php and a single mysql database in the monthly cost as well as a stupid number of email mailboxs, 2Gb limits and a catchall address (very useful for website and forum signups eg hexus@1straven.co.uk.....)

Only issue is you pay every 6 months but its cheapish at £5 a month.
