    DG834GT keeps reseting itself

My trusty DG834GT keeps resetting itself, the lights turn on, then the wireless light turns on there a small electrical "switch" sound kinda like the sound when you turn on a CRT tv, then the router resets itself.

This occurred after i turned the wireless on today for some tinkering, its usually off :<

Tried resetting and recovery flashing, not working, I'm suspecting a hardware fault (it's 5-6 years old now ) want other opinions though

If you have a suitable Torx screwdriver, take the feet off and look to see if the capacitors are bulging. I suspect they will be. The caps are replaceable, if you have a soldering iron - I've done it with my GT.

Also try a different power supply - should be 12v 1a, but any 12v DC, providing 1a or greater should work. The standard GT PSUs can run quite hot.

Id say replace it. Sounds likes its on its last legs.

Not worth repairing by the time you have got the parts opened it up and cursed at it you may break it further!

Agree, It does sound like the capacitors. I changed them in my one a while back.
